Community Youth Bike Mechanics Program
(Deadly Treadlies)

The Tangentyere Council are looking for a number of people to set up and manage a Community Youth Bike Mechanics Project.
They require one Project Co-ordinator and four Project Mentors
The positions ask for Certificate III (AUR 30205) certification, although it is not essential.

Bike Mechanic and Workshop Supervisor for Melbourne Bike Share

Alta Bicycle Share, the operators of the Melbourne Bike Share system, are looking for a bike mechanic to work on the iconic Blue Bikes in our Kensington warehouse. The role will be a one or two day per week position, and the option exists to take on more hours doing other tasks.
The successful candidate will supervise the running of the repairs workshop. Tasks will include performing repairs on the bikes, record keeping, maintaining inventory and reordering stock.
Selection criteria:

  • Advanced bike repair skills
  • Experience in administration
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Excel.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised
  • Regular availability
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and sunny disposition
